The Christopher Cutts Gallery is excited to announce our upcoming pop-up exhibition, Alexander Rasmussen’s “Sweet Tooth.” This exhibition will present a collection of new work by the Niagara-based abstract painter and will be held at Regional Variety & Gas Bar, a local family-owned gas station and convenience store in St. Catharines.

In 2014, years before he began working with the Christopher Cutts Gallery, Rasmussen independently organized his first solo exhibition at that same gas station. Now more than a decade later, the artist returns to transform the store into a gallery once again, showcasing the bold, colourful abstracts he is known for.

Gary Michael Dault has described Rasmussen’s work as “pure painting.” “[They] feel somehow engineered towards visual agitation and excitement; Rasmussen builds up his effects, as if he both knew what he wanted from them and how to get them.”

We invite you to join us this afternoon from 2 to 6 pm at Regional Variety & Gas Bar, 1670 Niagara Regional Rd 81, St. Catharines. The artist will be in attendance.

The exhibition will be on from Saturday, June 13 to Saturday, June 20.
