Christopher Cutts Gallery is pleased to present Gordon Anderson’s latest exhibition, Cutting it Close. Anderson first had the idea to construct a steel basketball system back in 1986/87. Now, 35 years later and three years in the making the 3,200 lbs, mild steel, bolt connected basketball stanchion with backboard and hoop is on display in our South gallery. It is accompanied by works that celebrate some of the great sports stadiums of the 20th century as well as the steel mills that provided the material to build these magnificent edifices.
