Jason Young

Jason Young was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and later moved to Paris, France where he attended the Institut des Hautes Etudes en Art Plastiques. He currently resides in New York City where he exhibits at the Christenrose Gallery. He also shows at the Monte Clark Gallery in Vancouver and Milan, Italy.

Young for the past several years has worked with epoxy resin; creating distinct, translucent colour-field paintings. Young demonstrates a further evolution in this unique medium. To quote Jonathon Goodman from a 1997 Art in America review, ” Jason Young’s deliberately beautiful paintings manage to acknowledge contemporary art’s enduring affection for the artificial and to present a serious attempt at attaining the sublime.” The works that constitute this exhibition achieve an esthetic culmination that accesses the sublime.
