Introducing
Kristín Morthens and Alexander Rasmussen

Opening Reception: Saturday, March 30th, 2-6pm

Christopher Cutts Gallery is pleased to present Kristín Morthens and Alexander Rasmussen. An introductory exhibition of two outstanding emerging abstract painters.

The gallery has had a longstanding tradition of exhibiting the best in Canadian non-objective painting. So I am delighted to be presenting Kristín Morthens. A recent graduate of OCADU, born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland and now living and working in Toronto. And Alexander Rasmussen who attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Rasmussen is from the Niagara Peninsula region where today he lives and works.

What I find most intriguing in both of these young artists is their confidence in dealing with the difficult challenge of making something that is both resolved compositionally and uniquely theirs. Morthens and Rasmussen have established, at a young age, their own painterly vocabulary – a voice, their voice! What a wonderful achievement combined with the enthusiasm of starting a journey of great mystery and wonder.

This exhibition runs until Saturday, April 27th, 2019
